Notes Lopez of the exchange she had, "I was just so infuriated that somebody said you couldn’t have a little extra meat on you, because I was by no means fat! That was so mean and closed-minded. I was like, ‘No, this is who I am and this is the type of woman that I grew up with and it was beautiful and there’s no reason to be anybody by myself.’"
Lopez revealed the story in a recent interview with Jane Fonda, who also asked if she still came under pressure to diet. Lopez replied, "No, I don’t get that now. I think people know better." Indeed, they should. Lopez is obviously a strong woman, so it appears that messing with her is an activity best avoided. Of course, no interview with Lopez would be complete without questions about her divorce from Marc Anthony or her current beau, Bradley Cooper. Asked about relationships in general, Lopez replied, "I just think when it's easy, it's great. But when something bad happens is when you really learn. It causes self-examination, it causes you to take a look at yourself. You naturally start analyzing. It's not that you're wrong; it's that sometimes you just need to make adjustments."
