"People aren't stupid, you know?" Sheen said. "Not all of them." He also pointed out that he didn’t like what the writers were doing with the show in trying to replace his character with a much more sympathetic and "pathetic" character played by Ashton Kutcher. "He's doing the best he can," Sheen explained. "I don't think the role is cursed, but I'm extremely disappointed with how they're handling what I left behind."
Of course, Sheen is now attempting to move forward with a new show on a new network – and it still seems like a long shot that he’s going to be able to generate another ratings winner. Unfortunately for Charlie Sheen, his months-long meltdown that precipitated his ouster from Two and a Half Men created a new image of him for the American public. Prior to his now-infamous rants and ramblings, he was just a hard-partying comedic actor who had managed end up in a gold mine of a situation. Now we may have seen too much of the real Charlie Sheen to pay much attention to whatever character he plays on television.
